Tech Tip: Canvas Dashboard

For this week's tech tip, I am talking about Canvas' dashboard. The Canvas dashboard it the first thing you see when you long into Canvas. Something that I really like about Canvas is how you can customize the colors and titles of your classes. I know some people who title their classes with their course ID and class name and I personally title my classes just with the class name. There are so many options so you can make it whatever you want it to be.  Something else that I do that is really handy is I customize the color of my classes on the dashboard. In my planner I color code my classes, for example for my Indian Epics course I write all of my homework and assignments in my planner in a light, lime green color so for my Canvas dashboard I made my Indian Epics course that same color.  You can even customize the colors so much that if you know the exact location on the color wheel you can write the corresponding color name (a series of letters...

Famous Last Words: So Close Yet So Far

This week I realized how fast the end of the semester is approaching. This semester has seen to fly by. I'm ok and prepared for the end of the semester in a couple of my classes such as Indian Epics because I am ahead but in some of my other classes I'm terrified because I still have so much left to do! So, yes, the end of the semester is so close yet so far away.  Something that I thought I would share this week in my "Famous Last Words" is something that one of my professors has made me realize or rather connected the dots on something I think it really important. My PR research professor has stressed to my class all semester about how it's not about the grades that you get in a class it is about the process of getting those grades. At first I was like "yeah, yeah.... ok what ever." But now I really do believe it, it just took me a while.  In the past I have had a hard time managing my stress levels, so this semester I decided I wa...

Part A Notes How the Monkey Saved His Troop Every night monkeys went to a mango tree where the fruit had dropped. A king found out about the fruit and liked the fruit so much he needed to know where the tree stood. When they found the tree the king collected all of the fruit laying on the ground. The monkeys came later that night and saw that all of the fruit on the ground was gone so they picked the fruit from the tree. The monkeys were so loud that it woke up the king and later archers stood at the base of the tree ready to kill the monkeys. The king saw how good the chief monkey took care of his troop and the king said he would take care of the chief monkey for the rest of his life. The Brave Little Bowman A crooked little man used a bow and arrow very well. The little man wanted to get work from the king's army. Along the way he met ...

Hello everyone, Below you will find a collection of notes from  part A  of readings from Ellen C. Babbitt's More Jataka Tales . The Girl Monkey and the String of Pearls A queen put her pearls away in a box and a girl monkey watched. The monkey waited until the servants fell asleep. The monkey hid the pearls in the hole of a tree. The guard woke up and realized that the pearls were missing. The chief suggested that one of the girl monkeys took the pearls. The guards and the chief tricked the girl monkey by hanging more beads. All the monkeys except for the one which stole the pearls came to look at the beads. The Three Fishes Three fish, Very-Thoughtful, Thoughtful and Thoughtless swam away from their safe home. Very-Thoughtful suggested that the fishes turn around because of fisherman, but the others didn't want to turn back. Thoughtful and Thoughtless swam into a fisherman's net and Very-Thoughtful saved them. The Tricky Wolf and the Rats Tricky Wolf wanted to ca...
