Reading Notes: Twenty Jataka Tales, Part A

In the notes below you will find my reading notes from part A of Twenty Jataka Tales by Noor Inayat.

The Guilty Dogs
The palace dogs went to chew on the horses leather straps on the chariot when it started to rain. The stablemen saw the next day that the straps were destroyed. The stablemen went to go tell the king that the dogs ate the straps. The king ordered all dogs in the kingdom to be killed so all of the dogs were terrified. The chief of the dogs told the city dogs that he would find those who were guilty of the crime so not all of the dogs had to die. The king told the chief dog that only the royal dogs would be able to live. The chief dog exclaimed that the royal ones were guilty and proved that they really were.

The Golden Feathers
A family lived in a small hut in a forest. One day the father told his family that he must leave to go on a trip to bring back jewels and nice things for his family. He walked through the forest at night and a fairy met him. The fairy turned him into a goose with golden feathers after the father told the fairy about why he was traveling. The father now a golden goose flew back to his home after he realized his feathers were made of gold. The mother told the children that when the goose would return they needed to pluck all of its golden feathers. But when all of the feathers were plucked the fairy sleep turned all of the feathers white like all of the other geese. The goose continues to live a miserable life in the barrel until his white feathers grew back again. Then the goose flew away. The family didn't know that it was their father.

Introduction to a PR Student

Hi, my name is Chelsea Journee and I am from The Woodlands, Texas. The Woodlands is about 30 minutes north of Houston, Texas. My family and I have lived in the same house my entire life so it was a big change for me when I decided to go to college in a different state. I am currently a first semester senior (by hours) at OU. I am studying public relations and my minor is general business. On campus I am pretty involved. I am in a social sorority, I am an account manager for Lindsey + Asp (OU's student-run PR and ad agency) and I am also the treasurer for PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America). (Personal Photo: My sorority family) (Personal Photo: PRSSA executive leadership outside of Gaylord Hall) I enjoy lounging around with my dogs while watching Netflix in my free-time. My dog's names are Jasper and Snickers. Jasper is a miniature dashchund that loves to lay in anyone's lap and we don't really know what Snickers is because we rescued her...

Kunti's son with the sun god was a secret. No one knew about it not even her husband, the king. One day Pandu was hunting with his bow and accidentally shot and killed a couple. Before the man died he cursed Pandu and said that the second be would be come intimate with a woman something terrible would happen. This caused great pain for Pandu and he decided to leave the kingdom. Kunti mentioned to Pandu her special gift in which she could call upon any god. The god of truth was c...
