Reading Notes: PDE Ramayana, Section B

These notes are an outline of section B of the PDE version of Ramayana. When I did notes for section A I really enjoyed doing them in bullet form because for me it was easier to follow the events that took place, the character's lives and how they are all connected to each other.

King's Death:
  • Bharata does not know that his brother (Rama) has been exiled and his father is dead because he has been in the kingdom of Kaikeyas with this mother's sire
    • When he find out, he first has to go to his father's funeral and mourn for a couple of days
    • He then goes to the forest and tries to get his brother, Rama to come back home
    • Rama will not go back home so Bharata takes Rama's shoes as a gift to remember him and he doesn't go back home either or won't until Rama comes back home

In the Forest:
  • Sita is abducted by an evil demon and Rama and Lakshmana have to fight it
    • Rama tries to kill the demon with sharp weapons but doesn't work so they dig a pit
  • Rama meets another sage who gives Rama a "shining dart of Brahma"
    • Will help an archer never miss their shot
  • Shurpanakha (Ravana's sister) is in love with Rama but Rama wants nothing to do with her because he is in love with his wife so he tries to set her up with his brother but she doesn't want Rama's brother
    • She becomes angry and tries to go after Rama and Sita
  • Ravana (Shurpanakha)'s brother seeks revenge on Rama
    • He goes to Maricha (son of Thataka) to get help so they can abduct Sita
  • Maricha takes the form of a golden deer to get attention from Rama
    • Rama chases the deer and kills it and then Maricha speaks like Rama calling for help from Lakshmana
  • Rama and Lakshmana leave Sita alone and Ravana transforms into a forest sage to go to Sita
  • Jatayu (bird) has been looking over Rama, Sita and Lakshmana
    • He sees Ravana with Sita
  • Ravana forces Sita to go with him and tries to get her to sleep with him
  • Jatayu tells Rama and Lakshmana what happened to Sita

Introduction to a PR Student

Hi, my name is Chelsea Journee and I am from The Woodlands, Texas. The Woodlands is about 30 minutes north of Houston, Texas. My family and I have lived in the same house my entire life so it was a big change for me when I decided to go to college in a different state. I am currently a first semester senior (by hours) at OU. I am studying public relations and my minor is general business. On campus I am pretty involved. I am in a social sorority, I am an account manager for Lindsey + Asp (OU's student-run PR and ad agency) and I am also the treasurer for PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America). (Personal Photo: My sorority family) (Personal Photo: PRSSA executive leadership outside of Gaylord Hall) I enjoy lounging around with my dogs while watching Netflix in my free-time. My dog's names are Jasper and Snickers. Jasper is a miniature dashchund that loves to lay in anyone's lap and we don't really know what Snickers is because we rescued her...

Hello all, In this post you will find my notes from The Mahabharata: Karmic Revolution an online film from YouTube. These notes are only comprised of the part B playlist . Kunti was given a special mantra from a sage, which would allow her to call upon any god that she wished. Kunti tried it out with the sun god to see if it worked and it did. Kunti was left with a child from the sun god. Kunti knew that the child was destined for greatness. She placed the child in a basket and put it in the river. Kunti's son with the sun god was a secret. No one knew about it not even her husband, the king. One day Pandu was hunting with his bow and accidentally shot and killed a couple. Before the man died he cursed Pandu and said that the second be would be come intimate with a woman something terrible would happen. This caused great pain for Pandu and he decided to leave the kingdom. Kunti mentioned to Pandu her special gift in which she could call upon any god. The god of truth was c...
